About Us
DIVA OPERA is a new initiative in Cape Town to create employment opportunities for young singers who have the necessary talent, skills and passion to be part of a professional opera company. At the moment, we have 28 members and there is already interest from many more to join the company.
Our dream is to present two full scale operas during 2023. At the moment we focus on smaller produtions which can be presented in restaurants, hotel lounges and at the function venues of various wine farms across the Western Cape.
Ultimately, the ideal is to tour nationally and bring opera to those audiences who never get the opportunity to see grand opera.
